We want Tango Argentino Vienna to be usable by everyone — regardless of eyesight, motor skills, hearing or the way someone uses the web. We follow the requirements of the Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
The platform is free of charge, does not broker contracts and sells nothing. This statement is a voluntary, honest stock-take: it describes what already works well, where things still fall short, and how you can tell us about barriers.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2, Level AA. The limitations listed below are known to us and are being fixed step by step.
Known limitations
Our review in September 2026 found the following barriers:
- In the dark and the high-contrast theme, links inside longer texts (event descriptions, imprint, privacy policy) still have too little contrast against the background.
- The mobile calendar card only reads its title to screen readers — time, venue and the cancellation notice are still missing.
- The markers on the map have no label for screen readers yet; the map controls (zoom, close popup) and the image gallery controls are still in English only.
- The venue search on the map is not yet fully keyboard-operable: the search field has no label and the results can only be picked with a mouse.
- Error messages in forms (login, registration, feedback) are not yet consistently linked to the affected fields and are partly untranslated.
- The programme on festival pages and the date picker are cumbersome to operate by keyboard: the focus moves day by day instead of in week steps.
What is already in place
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- A clearly visible keyboard focus on all controls.
- Three colour schemes — light, dark and high contrast — freely selectable and independent of the system setting.
- A large-text mode for better readability.
- The system setting "reduce motion" is respected; animations are switched off accordingly.
- Text alternatives to all maps: venues are also available as an address list.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 2 September 2026. It is based on a self-assessment: an automated audit with axe-core in all three colour schemes plus a manual check with keyboard and screen reader. A follow-up review is planned; the statement will be updated then.
