Milongas in Wien

Where the city dances — every tango evening in the coming weeks at a glance.

Milongas are social dance events for Argentine tango, held in line with a specific set of traditions (see our FAQs) and set to beautiful music — usually in striking venues that originally served a different, often industrial, purpose, or outdoors in public spaces.

Tangueros gather to share their passion and express themselves artistically and emotionally — together, in an embrace, to wonderful music. Wien offers milongas on every day of the week, from intimate studio gatherings to grand salons with live orchestra.

Entry typically costs between 8 and 15 euros, often less for members or early-bird slots. Doors usually open between 8 and 10 pm; milongas end between 1 and 4 am. An experienced DJ plays music in tandas (sets of three or four songs) separated by cortinas — this rhythm shapes the flow of the evening.
