About the Event
A Tango Weekend with Sercan & Zeynep – six workshops, three milongas and a performance across three days at Galería Ideal and Milonga Central (ÖTK Bäckerstraße).
Both in their dance and their lifestyle, as a couple Sercan and Zeynep have a distinctive point of view embracing communication and innovation, always reminding the lively, respiring “human touch” of the tango dance. Sercan has been into music since he was 15 years old. With this musical background, knowledge and experience, he can seamlessly fuse tango music into his dance, transposing a unique musicality experience to his students during their classes.
Sercan and Zeynep’s dance manifests aesthetics, harmony and musicality with an intense, yet unpretentious style, where one can almost breathe the excitement surrounding their aura.
Maestros & Teachers
Sercan Yiğit
Istanbul, Türkei
Sercan teaches and dances in Istanbul (Tango Nar). He has been making music since the age of 15, and that musical background flows directly into his dance and teaching. In 2012 the couple won the Turkish championship (TDSF).
Zeynep Aktar
Istanbul, Türkei
Zeynep graduated in English Language & Literature from Bosphorus University and spent four years in theatre before devoting herself fully to tango. Together with Sercan she teaches in Istanbul, and they are one of Turkey's most exciting tango couples.
