A tango workshop is a topic-focused learning block — typically over a weekend, an evening or several days — with a teacher or teaching couple who go deep on a specific topic: walking technique, giros, ganchos, musicality, milonga etiquette, tango vals, or the stylistic specifics of tango nuevo or tango milonguero.

Unlike a weekly course, a workshop emphasises depth over repetition: fewer drills, more intensity. Many workshops in Wien are led by international maestros and maestras passing through the city for festivals, marathons or guest visits — a rare chance to learn directly from leading teachers in the global scene.

Pricing typically runs between 30 and 150 euros per unit, depending on scope and teacher. Registration with a partner is often not required — many organisers rotate deliberately to enable mixed pairings. A minimum level is usually specified clearly in the workshop description.
